Throughout my entire professional journey, I’ve worn three hats: photographer, professor, and pastor. My training as a sociologist, photographer, and theologian not only shapes my artistry but also drives my passion for storytelling. I embrace an Afrocentric aesthetic, firmly rooted in African American culture and history. My work draws from both scholarship and practice, ensuring that I pay meticulous attention to detail while making sure everyone looks their best.
Serving in the church has instilled in me a deep sense of care and love for those I serve, and I see this as my ministry. Photography, for me, is an act of love. I connect with the individuals I co-create with, ensuring their true essence shines through in our collaboration.
Punctuality is key—our sessions start and end on time, and you’ll receive your images in record time. I take pride in my professionalism and swift turnaround. When you reach out, you’ll find me just a text or call away, ready to address your needs.
I use top-of-the-line cameras, lighting, and a cutting-edge software to guarantee your images are nothing short of exceptional. My commitment to providing premier service is evident in my investment in technology to ensure you receive the absolute best.
As an artist trained at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I earned my Master of Fine Arts in photography, I bring creativity and flair to every project. I’m here to honor your story and style with artistry that resonates. As a sociologist with my PhD from the University of Pittsburgh I bring a scholar’s precision to the studio.
While I offer standard packages, options are available, I pride myself on flexibility. Let’s discuss your vision and collaborate to bring it to life. My specialty lies in African American portraiture, and my deep understanding of our community is evident in my work. Raised in Eatonville, Florida—the oldest all-Black incorporated town in the nation, home to Zora Neale Hurston—this connection is palpable in the studio.
When you check out my Google Reviews or watch behind-the-scenes footage, you’ll get a sense of what it’s like to work with me. I’m not just creating images; I’m fostering a creative relationship that lasts a lifetime. I want you to feel like part of our family—the Scholar with a Camera Photography LLC family.
Welcome to the family!
